I took a real interest in the window displays in New York. Especially the difference between the representation of shops in different areas of NY. On 5th Avenue the store windows and front were very grand. High Street stores like Forever 21 were made to look very expensive from the outside with pillars and flags out the front. I caught on to a series of patterns in window displays. A lot of brands were creating a home like 'feel' by using picture frames and chairs. Another pattern was with the use of cardboard; Cardboard boxes and corrugated card were used a lot throughout stores when it came to advertising SALES. Technology was being used in a lot of store windows as well to grab the consumers attention as they walk past. Guess had videos playing of photo shoots and Uni-glo used bright lighting and micro tiles to advertise their sales. It was really interesting to walk down 5th Avenue and see the extravagance of the store windows and the variety between them.
